Video from our friends Karmacoda
Jul 11, 2010 Recording, Shows, Video
It’s been awhile since our last post, but wanted to let everyone know we’re working hard on the next release from The Whitehalls -- due out this fall!
We’re in the final stages of mixing and we can truly say this is our most ambitious & exciting release to date.
In between studio sessions we also managed to skip out to another great show by Karmacoda, our producer B’s amazing band, last Friday at Harlot in San Francisco.

Also check out this awesome video for Skylines from Karmacoda:
Directed by Luis Otavio Feldens, Produced by John Vasicek
Skylines is the second single and video from the Karmacoda album Illuminate. The video, directed by San Francisco-based director and animator Luis Otavio Feldens features a stunning combination of digital still photography and high definition, full-motion video.
It’s incredible…enjoy!
The Whitehalls debut CD distributed by Tunecore!
Feb 15, 2010 Recording, Say It Like You Mean It, Songs
The Whitehalls are now signed with Tunecore for all of our digitial distribution!
What does that mean for you?
By the end of March all songs from our debut album, “Say It Like You Mean It” will be available from the following:
- iTunes – U.S., UK/European Union, Canada, Australia/N.Z., Japan, Mexico
- Amazon MP3
- MySpace Music
- Napster
- eMusic
- IMVU
- Lala
- Rhapsody
- Shockhound
- Amie Street
- LimeWire Store
- Nokia
- Zune
According to a recent article and data from Neilsen (Soundscan – the people who track CD sales from record stores) & Tunecore:
- According to Nielsen (self defined as “…the world’s leading marketing and media information company.”) there were:
- “…106,000 new (music) releases in 2008″
- In 2009, TuneCore released approximately 90,000 releases
- This means, if their numbers hold true, almost every single new music release in 2009 was distributed via TuneCore.
And now add The Whitehalls to that list!
Feel free to check out the songs via the cool new Tunecore Widget on this blog and support us with the purchase of a song or two!
Think of it as a cheaper alternative to buying Drew drinks at the bar…

TI Session 3 – Final Day of Drew Guitar – 10/5/09 – Pics
So today was last day of Drew’s rhythm guitar – it was a great session – Drew knocked it out of the park and used 3 different guitars!
Here are some pics from the session for you to enjoy:

Up Next – Recording Drew’s Guitars at TI Studios
Sep 28, 2009 Recording
As many of you may be aware, our lead guitarist and Drew’s brother Neil recently had a delivery from the stork!
So while Neil is busy learning the ins and outs of sleep deprived diaper origami the rest of the The Whitehalls are focused on more recording. Specifically Drew is up next to start recording his guitar parts for the next album.
We’re starting tonight and working with super producer B, of Karmacoda fame, to move to Defcon 2 with Drew and his guitar parts. So far things are shaping up fantastically and we’re already looking forward to the fun of mixing as these songs sound amazing even in totally raw form!
We’ll post some pics soon!

Sep 7, 2009 Recording
So the first order of business as The Whitehalls is recording the follow up to our well received “Say It Like You Mean It”.
In addition to the new name it’s also the first record written and recorded with Bill Shupp on drums and produced by super producer B. from Karmacoda.
With that in mind we headed up to Laughing Tiger, a fantastic studio in San Rafael to get basics recorded. Ask for Ari – he’s the man!
We’ll spend the next few months finishing recording at our studio and mixing at Sola Musa in Brisbane. But here’s a few inside pics of the process:
